Jimmy O’Brien, better known as Jomboy, has built a successful career as an internet personality. But one of his own creations got the best of him this week.
Jomboy rose to fame with his breakdowns of the Astros cheating scandal and has provided plenty of entertainment with his lip-reading videos and breakdowns of various MLB moments. O’Brien has now amassed millions of subscribers and followers and raised millions of dollars. Jomboy Media is now a full-fledged media company featuring a partnership with YES Network, podcasts, and their own invention of the Warehouse Games that is distributed on their platforms.
But during this week’s edition of the Warehouse Games, Jomboy himself was a casualty.
During one of the games, Jomboy tries sprinting out of the box, but immediately goes down in a heap. And if you’ve seen the injuries to Tyrese Haliburton, Jayson Tatum, or Dre Greenlaw, you know exactly what happened. This wasn’t a twisted ankle or a pulled hammy (shoutout Caleb Williams); this was a torn Achilles.
And perhaps in honor of Paul Pierce, he was then wheeled off the court in an office chair.

But this being the internet age, there was only one thing that had to be done. A Jomboy breakdown of Jomboy tearing his own Achilles.

He detailed that the game was taped four months ago and was the last of four games that were taped in a single day. He also threw his brother under the bus for failing to win the game and forcing him to bat. But at least he found the humor in the incredible use of the office chair.
Jomboy then showed off the scar from the Achilles surgery, but at least showed that he has healed well and has full mobility. Thankfully, you only need one good Achilles to do internet breakdown videos. But whether or not he will ever be the same for the Warehouse Games is another question, though.
