As we approach the 2024 NFL season, fans of the sport are set to see a lot of former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. But perhaps even more surprisingly, we could see one of his disciples alongside him in one of his many media ventures – former Detroit Lions head coach Matt Patricia.
Belichick is set to be a very busy man this football season. Among his numerous new responsibilities include being a regular fixture on ESPN’s Manningcast, the Let’s Go! podcast, Inside The NFL on The CW, and a new show on Underdog Fantasy called Coach.
Of all these new gigs, it seems like Belichick may have the most control over his venture with Underdog. That is if the first episode of the show is any indication.
On Monday, Underdog posted a preview of the debut episode, which includes Belichick and his former assistant, Patricia, discussing the New York Jets offense.

Even when Patricia was a coach in the NFL, he was never someone who was in the public eye all that often. So it certainly a bit of a surprise to see him alongside Belichick on a show like this.
Football fans likely last saw Patricia as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, where he served in a senior defensive assistant role last season. The two then mutually parted ways just weeks after the end of the 2023-24 regular season.
Patricia is of course best known as the longtime assistant under Belichick for the Patriots from 2004-2017 before briefly leaving for a head coaching opportunity with the Detroit Lions, only to later return for a second stint in New England.
This trailer does not confirm that Patricia will be a regular co-host of the show alongside Belichick. Although that possibility has seemingly not been ruled out yet either at this point.
But at the very least, it could potentially indicate that Bill Belichick does have a good amount of say as to who will be joining him on his show if it isn’t Matt Patricia on a regular basis, which could make for some very interesting guests throughout the 2024-25 NFL season.
