Barstool Sports is on fire. Well, sort of. This isn’t a comment on the media company’s impressive rise, topped by the Super Bowl week run of The Barstool Rundown on Comedy Central.

The building where Barstool’s New York headquarters is situated actually caught fire Monday morning. News of the incident came first-hand from Barstool staffers on the scene.

New York City Patch’s Ciara McCarthy provided more details about the fire, reporting that firefighters were investigating a possible boiler fire in Manhattan’s NoMad district.

“The fire department confirmed that investigators are on the scene at 1160 Broadway between W 27th Street and W 28th Street. A department spokesman said the call came in at 10:47 a.m. and that firefighters are investigating the building and the surrounding area now.

“The building is located next to the headquarters of Barstool Sports, whose staffers have been tweeting from the scene. Barstool Sports is located at 15 W 27th Street.”

Barstool Sports moved into its New York headquarters from Massachusetts last summer, months after the company received an eight-figure investment from The Chernin Group, which bought a majority stake. Last month, Barstool expanded its office space in The Kaufman Organization’s building, taking over the entire third floor.

If more news becomes available, this post will be updated accordingly.
