If you have any access to modern forms of communication whatsoever, you probably heard about Taylor Swift and her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, being announced this week.
Swift made the reveal on her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast with brother Jason Kelce. The podcast literally broke YouTube and revealed more about Swift’s personal and professional life than we have ever heard before.
It shows the incredible nature of Swift’s star power that an album announcement and a podcast appearance can cause the planet to stop spinning on its axis. It can also lead to soccer announcers paying tribute to her by somehow working every song title from the new album into their commentary.
That’s exactly what NWSL announcer Mike Watts did during the Amazon Prime Video telecast of the Washington Spirit playing Racing Louisville. In case you may have missed one, Amazon even included a helpful graphic at the end showcasing that Watts completed the mission by getting all 12 of the new tracks in there.

We all know that Swifties love their easter eggs, so hopefully the effort to work in all of the song titles in soccer commentary by Mike Watts was well appreciated.
Taylor Swift is slowly taking over the world, but why should we stop here? Who among us would not want to see Tony Romo try something similar for the first time Swift is in the building to watch Travis Kelce and the Chiefs this year? i would pay good money to see how he would find a way to namedrop Elizabeth Taylor or Ophelia during a telecast.
