The NHL on TNT is making its (regular-season) debut on Wednesday night with a doubleheader, and it’s no surprise that Turner Sports decided to bring an Inside the NBA star on the pregame show (after all, they hope this can be the Inside the NBA of NHL studio shows).
Charles Barkley joined the NHL on Face Off crew and even played some goaltender in-studio. And he had the task of trying to stop Wayne Gretzky (Barkley actually played a big role in recruiting “the Great One” to Turner Sports).
First, Chuck had to get the pads on, which was difficult enough.

And then Chuck had to try to stop the Gretzky shots. Surprisingly, he did get one save in five Gretzky shots on goal!

Not a bad effort from Barkley, who truly is a big hockey fan.
