The Windsor Spitfires defeated the Erie Otters to win the Memorial Cup over the weekend, the Canadian Hockey League’s national championship. After the game (as shown on NHL Network), a cameraman got up close and personal with the Erie bench.
It’s a great shot as it’s the “agony of defeat” up close and personal. However, Erie goaltender Troy Timpano didn’t quite appreciate the value of getting the shot. Watch as he throws his goalie’s stick right at the cameraman.
Timpano went to Twitter afterwards and posted an apology.

You can understand being frustrated in the loss, but to take it out on the cameraman of all people? That’s probably not the best way to cope with defeat. Timpano is lucky the cameraman didn’t get seriously injured because he probably wasn’t expecting to get a stick being thrown at his head.
