Now that it’s a major player in the world of sports broadcasting, Amazon’s Prime Video has spared no expense when it comes to announcing talent.

That holds true for the inaugural Monday Night Hockey Canadian broadcast as the streamer announced that Hall of Famer and six-time Stanley Cup winner Mark Messier will headline their broadcast this NHL season.

Messier “will share 10 captivating segments featuring stories from his legendary career to air throughout the season,” per an X post from Sports on Prime Canada.

Adnan Virk and Andi Petrillo will co-host Monday Night Hockey from the studio along with former NWHL player Blake Bolden in the analyst role. Seattle Kraken broadcaster John Forslund will handle play-by-play while former NHL players Shane Hnidy, Thomas Hickey, and Jody Shelley will serve as analysts.

Prime Monday Night Hockey, which will cover “all national regular-season Monday night NHL games in English throughout the 2024-25 season for Prime Members in Canada,” begins on Oct. 14. when the Montreal Canadiens take on the Pittsburgh Penguins at 7 p.m. ET.

The streamer also announced NHL Coast to Coast, a live, weekly whiparound studio show airing on Thursday nights in Canada. Hosted by Andi Petrillo, it will feature live look-ins, highlights and expert analysis of every NHL game that night. That show premieres on Oct. 10.
