Blame Travis Kelce’s slow start on the Kansas City Chiefs, blame it on his age, but don’t let Whoopi Goldberg hear you blaming it on Taylor Swift.

When it comes to talking about Kelce’s performance on the field, First Take and local sports radio shows have a new competitor in The View. And Tuesday morning, Whoopi Goldberg assessed Kelce’s slowest start to an NFL season since his rookie year, and in doing so, lashed out at any fans pointing their finger at Taylor Swift.

“NFL superstar Travis Kelce is off to a slow start this season and some of the Chiefs fans are accusing his girlfriend, Taylor Swift for taking his mind off the game,” Goldberg said. “But they apparently forgot that they won the Super Bowl last year with him and they were just as tight then as they are now.”

“Grow up, y’all,” Goldberg ranted about NFL fans criticizing Swift. “Grow up! Stop putting this on her. Your team is fine, your team is doing well. Shut up!”

The defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs are 3-0 this season, which as Goldberg said is fine and well. Kelce, however, has just eight catches for 69 years and no touchdowns. Not great. Is it Taylor Swift’s fault? No, but there’s nothing wrong with fans being concerned about Kelce’s slow start and wondering if some of his extra-curricular activities are factoring in.

Maybe Goldberg should go back and watch her 1996 classic Eddie, where she was once a fan torching the New York Knicks from the crowd. You better believe Eddie would be questioning Kelce’s slow start right now.
