The Washington Commanders pulled off an epic upset on Saturday, taking down the overwhelming favorite Detroit Lions at Ford Field with a 45-31 victory.
Fox broadcaster Tom Brady was on the call for the big game, and he found one moment during this game to perfectly recall an iconic moment from his playing days.
With five minutes to go and the Commanders ahead by two touchdowns, Fox cameras caught Washington owner Josh Harris on the field. He was presumably there to celebrate the huge win. However, as Brady noted, there’s a history of owners doing exactly that and seeing it backfire spectacularly. In fact, current Commanders head coach Dan Quinn is all too familiar with that scenario.
Quinn was the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons when they played the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI. Infamously, the Falcons led that game 28-3 before the Patriots, led by quarterback Tom Brady, stormed back for a 34-28 victory. One of the most memorable moments from that epic collapse was seeing Falcons owner Arthur Blank on the field, ready to celebrate, before it all came crashing down.
It’s a moment Blank probably wants to forget. And it’s a moment that Brady was more than happy to reference on Saturday.
Tom Brady had a one-liner ready to go after cameras showed Commanders owner Josh Harris on the field.

“Not sure coach Quinn likes owners coming down on the field before the game is over,” said Brady after Harris was shown on Fox.
“Oh geez,” mustered Kevin Burkhardt in response.
“My guy Dan,” added Brady, trying to take some of the sting off.
As for Quinn, his team held on this time and now the Commanders are off to the NFC Championship Game. So crack all the 28-3 jokes you want.
As for the Falcons, they’re used to catching strays like this.
