Tom Brady must wait another week to share his disgust for the Dallas Cowboys.
On Monday, the NFL on Fox announced that Brady would be calling his first Cowboys-less NFL game in Week 4, featuring the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Awful Announcing’s Sean Keeley already looked at just how many Cowboys games Brady would call for Fox this fall, and Week 4 wasn’t included for obvious reasons. That’s because the Cowboys will face off against the New York Giants on Prime Video’s (Amazon) Thursday Night Football. But if that were a Fox game in the late window, well, it’d be hard to imagine that Brady and Kevin Burkhardt wouldn’t have been at least under consideration.
Despite their struggles, Eagles-Buccaneers makes a lot of sense for Fox’s No. 1 team to be on the call. It features two likely NFC Playoff teams, one of which was formerly led by Brady. Speaking of Brady’s former teams, the fact that he won’t be on the call for the New England Patriots-San Francisco 49ers game on Sunday shows how far New England has fallen.
Brady will undoubtedly have more chances to call Patriots games, but a matchup in San Francisco against his boyhood team would have been a perfect fit. Unfortunately, with the 49ers likely without Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and Christian McCaffrey, and the Patriots still reeling from a tough loss to the New York Jets and Aaron Rodgers on TNF — it wasn’t the right fit this time.
While Brady may have to wait another week to voice his disdain for the Cowboys, the NFL world can rest assured that his time will come — perhaps in Week 6.
