Tom Brady has proved to be a renaissance man in retirement, a deep thinker, maybe even a bit of a strange dude, but a flat-Earther?
After living life as a boring football robot as an NFL star quarterback, Brady has become much more addicted to attention since retiring. Brady was a great NFL player, he’s a very good analyst for Fox, but his TB12 method, fake slap fight with Logan Paul, and decision to clone his dog are just a few examples of things he does that are a little strange. And the more we learn about Brady, the more you might wonder: would anyone really be stunned to learn he believes the Earth is flat?
Brady may have hinted at being a flat-Earther while broadcasting the Philadelphia Eagles’ 24-22 win over the Washington Commanders Sunday afternoon on Fox. During the game, Commanders safety Tyler Owens made one of the most impressive special teams plays you’ll see this NFL season, powering through blockers to deliver a big hit on Eagles punt returner Britain Covey.
Tyler Owens could not be stopped 😳

In the above clip shared on social media by the NFL, it was curiously cut right as Brady says “the Earth is…” But upon further review, Brady did say “the Earth is flat.”

“Look at him running through these little gunners that are trying to get in his way, no way, not today. Coach [Larry] Izzo is gonna be very proud of that,” Brady boasted about Owens. “And yeah, the Earth is flat. That’s what it feels like. Big powerful guy.”
Brady could have said the “ground is flat.” And maybe that’s what he meant by saying “the Earth is flat,” especially since he followed it up by noting “that’s what it feels like.” But it was especially notable that Brady said the “Earth is flat” on a play involving Owens. Because two years ago at the NFL Combine, Owens told reporters he doesn’t believe in space and started seeing some “flat Earth” theories that have “valid points.”

Maybe it was just coincidence that Brady happened to say, “Yeah the Earth is flat” while Owens, who believes flat Earth theories have some valid points, was making a tackle. Or maybe Brady was intentionally dropping that subtle reference to excite conspiracy theorists everywhere.
