How do you contain Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels? After the first half of Sunday’s playoff game between the Commanders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa coach Todd Bowles answered that question.
At least he attempted to.
As the teams were taking the field for the second half of the game, Bowles was interviewed by NBC’s Melissa Stark. Stark’s last question to Bowles was, “On defense, how do you limit Jayden Daniels.”
Things started off well enough for Bowles.
“Gotta get him in long — third-and-long yardage,” Bowles said. “We gotta win first down.”
The coach then sounded like he was leading a particularly confusing Hokey Pokey.
“He keeps getting out of the pocket to his left. To his, our left. His left. I mean, our left, his right. And we gotta cut that down.”

Two things can be established from this interview.
One, it’s probably best to not ask Bowles for directions.
Two, if you take a road trip with Bowles, be sure to budget some extra time for travel.
