Former NFL wide receiver and current NFL Network analyst Steve Smith, Sr. went viral on Saturday and it had nothing to do with football.
The five-time Pro Bowler spent the final three seasons of his 16-year NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens. He’s maintained a strong connection to the franchise in the years since he retired. This past season, he even spent time with the Baltimore Ravens Marching Band, learning their routines and participating in gameday festivities.
Perhaps relatedly, the husband of a woman associated with the Ravens Marching Band took to social media Saturday to publicly call Smith out for having an affair with his wife.
The sordid saga began in the early hours of Saturday morning when an X user named Tony Martinez (@Lambeaughini) accused the former NFL star of having sex with his wife in response to a video post from Smith’s account.
@SteveSmithSr89 hit me up. Does your wife know you’ve been fucking my wife?

That was quickly followed by a post addressed to Steve Smith Sr., the Ravens, the Carolina Panters, and several news outlets, that purports to show screengrabs of text messages between Smith and the social media user’s wife.
@AB84 @espn @tmz @Ravens @Panthers @SteveSmithSr89 Steve Smith has been fucking my wife. I got receipts, you nasty af Steve. Hope your wife gets paid. pic.twitter.com/iGfwblr4U1

After spending the next few hours flooding X with reposts in order to catch the attention of more news outlets and NFL-related accounts, the account then posted a video that purports to show a phone conversation between the user and Smith. In the video, the man presumably lets Smith know he is aware of the affair. The person, who is presumably Steve Smith Sr., says, “I’m sorry,” while the other man continues to chastise him. After almost 90 seconds, the call is ended.
@SteveSmithSr89 you a bitch. You talk a lot of shit on tv but that’s all you about. Grab my pocket bitch. @TMZ @Ravens @AB84 @Panthers pic.twitter.com/HKmeRBW4uJ

The account went on to share several more screengrabs of the purported text conversation between Smith and his wife. The account also shares what appears to be a photo of Smith standing in front of a mirror with his midsection blocked out by a cartoon unicorn.
Also at some point during the day, the apparent Facebook account of the woman in question posted several screengrabs of the texts between her and Smith. The post claims that the woman and Smith had an encounter at the Ravens’ training facility.
Steve Smith, Sr. has been married to Angie Smith since 2000 and they have four children.
Smith has yet to respond to any of the posts or allegations. We’ve reached out to NFL Network for confirmation or comment. We will update the post when we receive either.
