Football fans everywhere roasted the dreadful Thursday Night Football game this week, which saw the Seattle Seahawks beat the Chicago Bears by the low score of 6-3.
But the game took a shot Friday night from an unlikely source — the St. Louis Blues.
The NHL team had a great time Friday night, beating the visiting Nashville Predators, 7-4. That’s an unusually high-scoring game by NHL standards; according to Hockey-Reference.com teams are combining for 6.08 goals per game this season.
It’s definitely more scoring than fans saw on Thursday night. So the Blues were feeling it Friday night, or at least someone with the keys to the social media account was feeling it, because the team’s X account posted the Blues-Predators final score, along with the Bears-Seahawks score.
They added “LOL” for maximum trolling value.

Admittedly, that game offered low-hanging fruit for jokes. Even Amazon Prime Video announcer Al Michaels pointed out during the broadcast that the scoreboard matched the final 6-3 score in a Seattle Mariners win over the Chicago White Sox this year.
Al: Kirk, do you realize earlier this season…Seattle beat Chicago earlier this year, 6-3
Kirk: In a soccer game?
Al: Nope, Mariners beat the White Sox in Chicago on July 29th. There you go, history repeats. pic.twitter.com/eW26tqRTzE— Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) December 27, 2024
And Jon Gruden used the game as an excuse to explain everything he hates about Thursday Night Football, telling Barstool Sports’ Pardon My Take, “On a short week you really don’t get any time to practice. … and these guys are beat up, man.”
Now an NHL team is piling on. The fan reactions were priceless. Many Bears fans punched back, pointing out St. Louis has lost two NFL teams. But there were a surprising number of fans who cheer for both the Bears and Blues who applauded the post.
As a @ChicagoBears and @StLouisBlues fan. This hurts and kicks ass all at the same time.
