If you are familiar with Skip Bayless even slightly, you know just how devoted he has been to the Dallas Cowboys over the years. But after the team missed the playoffs this past season for the first time since 2020, that devotion appears to be quickly turning into disdain.
Bayless not only had to watch his Cowboys flounder to the tune of a 7-10 record this past season, but he also had to watch the Cowboys’ bitter rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles, win a Super Bowl.
The former FS1 personality has had countless public meltdowns about the Cowboys over the years. But this time around, in a four-minute rant posted to his X account, he fell to the level of ditching his Cowboys jersey for an Eagles jersey in hopes of changing the fortunes of both organizations.
“It has come to this for me,” added Bayless as he went to grab a new jersey. “I have now purchased, with my own money, this jersey featuring a quarterback I have always loved, Jalen Hurts. And a team I have always hated, the freaking Philadelphia Eagles. I hate this color, it makes me sick to my stomach. It has come to this ladies and gentlemen. Behold Cowboys Nation… What do you think? Fly Eagles fly! It is your fault, Jerry Jones! You made me do this!”

To be fair to Bayless, he has always been a supporter of Jalen Hurts, who played a season for his favorite collegiate program, the Oklahoma Sooners, before becoming the NFL star he is today. But still, singing the Eagles fight song publicly is perhaps a new low for Bayless in regards to his Cowboys fandom.
Only time will tell whether his new good luck charm will help change the fortunes of both the Cowboys and the Eagles in 2025. But clearly, Bayless is quite desperate to see the Cowboys return to a Super Bowl for the first time in 30 years.
