There’s no shortage of material to go off of when it comes to making jokes about Aaron Rodgers. Whether you love him or hate him, between his ayahuasca usage, political opinions, or mysterious romantic life, Rodgers gives people plenty to talk about.
So when the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback helped secure the team’s third win of the season after hanging on to beat the Minnesota Vikings in Dublin, it was no surprise he provided some additional material during a postgame interview with Pam Oliver.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time [in Ireland],” Rodgers said. “Again, I always want more. I enjoy the Irish culture. I did partake in a few Guinnesses a couple nights ago, but hopefully they’ll be a couple on the plane ride back too. …It’s a long flight, feels a lot better after a win.”
Those comments apparently caught the attention of NFL Network host Rich Eisen, who always has an ear for quirky connections. After Oliver threw it back to the studio, Eisen was quick to give a quip about Rodgers’ infamous darkness retreat in 2023 where the quarterback contemplated retirement.
“There goes Aaron Rodgers,” Eisen said, “Breaking news right there. A dark beer retreat it appears he had earlier this week.”
Luckily for Rodgers, his “dark beer retreat” will likely be much less scrutinized than his darkness retreat, especially if he keeps winning games for the Steelers.
