One of the perils of social media is that even the most innocuous and unassuming posts can come back to haunt you in ways you never would have imagined.

Just ask the Baltimore Ravens.

Before Sunday’s much-hyped Divisional Round showdown against the Buffalo Bills, the Ravens’s social media team wanted to show off how their team was unfazed by the snowy conditions of Western New York.

“A little show doesn’t bother @Mandrews_81,” read their post on X before the game, showing tight end Mark Andrews running in shorts and a sleeveless shirt as flecks of snow fell in frigid temperatures.

If you watched the game that followed, you immediately see why this post came back to haunt Baltimore.

Down 27-19 late in the fourth quarter, Lamar Jackson led the Ravens on an eight-play, 88-yard touchdown drive that culminated in a touchdown, putting them within two points. On the ensuing two-point conversion, Jackson rolled right and found an open Andrews at the goal line. However, as he was crossing the plane, Andrews seemed to lose his footing slightly and bobbled the ball before it fell to the ground. The conversion failed and Baltimore lost the game.

Both Jackson had head coach John Harbaugh were quick to defend their tight end, who finished the regular season with 55 receptions for 673 yards and 11 touchdowns.

However, it did appear to be factually true that a little snow did, in fact, end up bothering Andrews.
