Did you love the ridiculous, unnecessary and unnatural car transformations from the Xzibit-hosted Pimp My Ride? Do you love football reality shows? Well, I’ve got some great news for you.
The NFL Network is set to premiere a new show called Tackle My Ride on November 15. The show is executive produced by Michael Strahan and features LaMarr Woodley and car expert James Torrez. Tackle My Ride’s premise is turning crappy automobiles into ultimate fan cars. Those selected to have their ride ‘tackled’ will team up with a current NFL player from their city.
“We’re excited to continue to create this type of lifestyle programming which allows us to highlight our players and their engaging personalities and bring them together with our most passionate fans.” said Michael Mandt, Executive Producer of Original Content for NFL Network said in a press release. “The car customization industry has an attitude, lifestyle, and culture all its own and this series will deliver cool access and a great story in each episode”
The NFL stars featured in Tackle My Ride will be Joe Haden, Cliff Avril, Kyle Rudolph, Jason Pierre-Paul, John Jenkins and Brandon Carr.
Here’s a promo for the series.

I can hear the memes now.
“Yo dawg, I heard you liked the Panthers, so we put an actual live panther in a cage in your backseat!”
“Yo dawg, I heard you liked the Vikings, so we outfitted your ride to resemble a Snekkja longship.”
“Yo dawg, I heard you liked the Dolphins, so your trunk is now a salt-water aquarium! Also, you can’t drive it.”
Pimp My Ride was entertaining, mostly due to upgraded vehicles being completely impractical (also it was kind of fake). But Tackle My Ride is sure to be entertaining solely from fans interactions with players. Seeing them get the “ultimate fan car” of their dreams should be fun too. Reviving Pimp my Ride into an NFL-themed show is a horrible idea, but I can’t wait to watch.
