The 101st NFL season is only a few months away and football fans are excited to know who will be the Most Outstanding Player of the season. The season is scheduled to begin on September 10, pending the development of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The season will end with the Super Bowl LV, the league’s championship game that will happen in February 2021. With the season-opening nearing, the amount to bet the NFL  for Most Outstanding Player is getting bigger every day.

Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes is being favored this season to be the NFL 2020 MVP, instead of the reigning NFL 2019 MVP Lamar Jackson. The NFL 2018 MVP quarterback was pegged to win his second MVP Award for the last three seasons. He missed two games last season due to a kneecap injury.

During his MVP year, Mahomes passed 5,097 yards with 12 interceptions and 50 touchdowns. His Quarterback Rating was at 82.0, leading the league even after only appearing for 17 games that season.

As mentioned, Mahomes suffered a kneecap injury in 2019. This incident took a toll on his record, making 2019 his down year. Although he suffered a drop on his record, he still finished the season with 4,031 passing yards, five interceptions, and 26 touchdowns.

He can make no-look throws from any point and angle on the field. He has one of the best offenses in the football field and one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. His play making ability and accuracy is legendary that NFL bettors are willing to pay huge amounts to bet for Mahomes.

Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

People have high hopes for the reigning MVP to win the award again this season. He is the second-youngest player to win the award at 23 years old.  He is also the fifth player in the league to win the award in one of his first two seasons.

Jackson accounted for 43 touchdowns, 36 passing touchdowns, threw for 3,127 yards, and rushed 1,206 yards last season. Sports Illustrated even stated that last season was the most spectacular season, thanks to Jackson’s performance.

Jackson entered the Ravens in 2018 after the injury of Joe Flacco. He led the team to the best football record during his first year. Since then, he has been named as one of the best quarterbacks the NFL has ever had. Due to these factors, bettors are heavily rooting for Jackson to win the MVP Award for the second time.

Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks

Wilson has been in the NFL for eight seasons. Although he had zero votes for MVP, he has always been one of the favorites to win the MVP Award. He played in elite level last season, posting the best numbers of his whole NFL career. He completed 66.1 percent of his passes for 4,110 yards and 31 touchdowns. He rushed for 342 yards and three touchdowns.

Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys

Prescott is coming off from the best season of his NFL career. In the last season, he scored 30 touchdowns and ran 4,902 passing yards. He was the only one, other than Tony Romo, to throw more than 30 touchdown passes in one season.

Some Cowboys fans are particularly not fans of Prescott. However, Prescott has one of the best numbers in the field, making him one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. His running back, offense, and receive are his best assets. Bettors are still rooting for him to be the MVP this season.

Tom Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The three-time MVP is still in the hopes of becoming the MVP this coming season. It made quite a buzz when he transferred from New England Patriots to Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the off-season. His offensive style and passing volume are the factors that will help him secure the MVP Award this season.

Brady accounted for 24 touchdowns and threw for 4,057  yards last season. He currently holds the best all-time playoff record of 30-11, most Super Bowl wins at 6, and second-best in all-time passing touchdowns at 541.

Carson Wentz, Philadelphia Eagles

There was a lot of criticism last season to the Philadelphia Eagles due to their injuries at wide receiver. However, Wentz still emerges to be one of the bets of bettors for MVP this season. It is noted that he helped his team finish on top of the NFC East over Dallas Cowboys.

For the first time in his career, he threw 27 touchdowns and passed more than 4,000 yards last season. He helped put big numbers for the Eagles last season. It would not be hard for him to put big numbers again for the team this season. Of course, all these would be possible with the help of his teammates, including veterans DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery.

Takeaway

During this off-season, it can be difficult to determine who will be the MVP this coming season. However, you can base your bets on the performances of these players during the NFL 2019 and their existing football records.
