Hard Knocks In Season Miami Dolhins

HBO is bringing back Hard Knocks: In Season for its third season, and the AFC East-leading Miami Dolphins will be the featured team.

The NFL announced the news on Monday.

The Dolphins were previously featured on Hard Knocks back in 2012, prior to a 7-9 season.

A specific premiere date has not been announced past “later this fall.” The previous season of Hard Knocks: In Season, focusing on the Arizona Cardinals, leaves Max on November 5. That season, new episodes premiered each Wednesday.

One interesting note from the NFL’s brief release (and the tweet above) about Hard Knocks: In Season is that only Max, and not HBO, is listed as the outlet to watch on. Last season, aired on HBO and could be streamed on HBO Max, pre-rebranding.

This summer, the New York Jets, an AFC East rival of the Dolphins, was featured on Hard Knocks. It seemed like no teams wanted to participate in the summer edition before the Jets were eventually forced into the spotlight. The team did not provide HBO with much access and “were not interested in being partners” with the filming, which dampened the overall experience. Despite all of that, viewership for Hard Knocks hit a 13-year high for the Jets edition.

Now, without much fanfare or public sparring, the Dolphins will be the featured team on the In Season edition of Hard Knocks. The team is young, exciting, and good, and there are all the makings of a compelling season featuring Mike McDaniel, Tua Tagovailoa, and company.
