Kurt Warner is best known as a Hall of Fame quarterback and now an analyst with NFL Network, but he believes if he had the chance, he would make a good U.S. President.
The former NFL star shared that surprising thought in an X post that caught everyone by surprise Thursday.
“I believe I would be a good president, but I know I’m not nearly smart enough!” Warner wrote. “But I am smart enough to know a president should not be resigned to a party box, they should develop their OWN convictions on each individual issue (and it’s ok to believe in aspects of both sides)…
“They should hold strong to those convictions while also being open to listening and learning from those who have different experiences & stand on the other side… they should fight for EVERY American, even knowing they won’t win every battle for everyone…”
Anyone who read this far had to be thinking, “Wait, is Warner simply sending a thinly veiled message to current presidential candidates?”
Warner pressed on.
“They should represent all of us with a genuine respect & goodness reflective of the majority… they should error with grace, bc they will error in the eyes of many bc it’s impossible to make everyone happy & win every fight… but they should wake up every day knowing they are in that position bc they genuinely want to make our country better than they found it!”
There you have it: the “Kurt Warner for President 2028” campaign platform.
I believe I would be a good president, but I know I’m not nearly smart enough! But I am smart enough to know a president should not be resigned to a party box, they should develop their OWN convictions on each individual issue (and it’s ok to believe in aspects of both sides)……

Would people really stand for a former football player as president? Well, it worked for former Michigan Wolverines star Gerald Ford. And America once elected a peanut farmer and then a former B movie actor in back-to-back elections, so the country appears open to all professions.
Warner would immediately have the Midwest locked down, thanks to stints at Northern Iowa and with the St. Louis Rams. He took the Arizona Cardinals to a Super Bowl, so put that swing state in the win column.
You want someone to help with groceries? Warner once worked in a grocery store! Warner’s experience in NFL Europe should make him a hit with the EU.
Of course, Warner’s opponents will find ammunition for negative ads, such as his love for puffy jackets. And then there’s this questionable S … E … X related incident recently on NFL GameDay Morning.
