On Thursday night, the Dallas Cowboys lost 31-24 to the Chicago Bears, knocking them to 6-7 (yet still in first place in the NFC East) on the season.
On Friday morning, Jones went on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas for his usual radio spot, and was in rare form, criticizing the show’s hosts (Kevin Hageland and Cory Mageors) and saying “bullshit” (which can be a problem on terrestrial radio) twice.
The clip starts with Jones being asked if he’s embarrassed in the Cowboys, and him responding by telling the host to “get your damn act together,” adding that “I don’t have the patience to jack with you today.”
Later in the interview (at roughly 0:44 of the clip above), Jones starts talking about Jason Garrett’s job status, transitions into talking about players from other teams, and tells the hosts, “there’s a whole bunch of times when I have to bullshit the hell out of you.” He doubles down by asking, “do you understand bullshit?” Both of the profanities (which I don’t really give a shit about, if you’re about to accuse me of pearl clutching) were bleeped out in the clip uploaded by the station.
ESPN reported that Jones was disconnected after the station used a delay button twice after each time he said bullshit.
Later in the interview, Jones used the word “bulls—” twice, leading the call to be disconnected after a delay button was used in each instance.
The station’s program director confirmed the disconnect, saying Jones did not hang up.
Just another day in Cowboys Nation. Dallas has three games remaining this season, hosting the 7-5 Rams next Sunday before traveling to Philadelphia in Week 16 to battle the 5-7 Eagles. Their season closes at home with a matchup against the 3-9 Redskins.
