Without photo evidence, we’ll have to take Ian Rapoport’s word that he broke the Davante Adams news from the shower.
Tuesday’s NFL news cycle was dominated by the report of Adams requesting a trade from the Raiders and hoping for a resolution before this season’s deadline, which will be on Election Day. Rapoport joined Good Morning Football on Wednesday to discuss the Adams news when Sara Walsh asked the NFL Network insider how much having to follow this story will now dominate his life.

“All of it,” Rapoport said. “You know what’s funny, I hit send yesterday, full disclosure, in the shower. Whatever doesn’t matter. Hit send yesterday…”
But that’s not an admission that can just be “whatever’d” without further discussion. And despite Rapoport’s attempt at quickly moving on, Kyle Brandt pressed pause to say, “We’re stopping the show on that, you’re hitting send in the shower?” Like you have the phone in the shower?”
“That’s so dangerous, bro” Mike Robinson added of Rapoport’s social media post from the shower. “Kids watch this show!”
“It’s not on FaceTime!” Rapoport said, seemingly confused as to why it was weird for him to break news from the shower. “You get news when you get news.”
Rapoport may not have been on FaceTime in the shower, but Shannon Sharpe probably didn’t think he was on Instagram Live that time he partook in an afternoon delight a few weeks ago.
“You can’t wait 10 minutes?” Robinson asked.
An insider? Wait 10 minutes? That question and concept was almost otherworldly to Rapoport who recently said he values scoops more than sleep.
“No,” Rapoport said to quickly dismiss the idea of waiting until he was done with his shower to report the news. “Someone else could get it. People need to know the news, Mike Rob. They got to know the news.”
People got to know the news and people got to shower. And for Rapoport, there’s no reason why those two things can’t be one in the same. If this happens again, however, the breaking news should definitely be accompanied by “from Ian Rapoport’s shower.”
