It’s not exactly a fleeting observation to say that the Dallas Cowboys shouldn’t be central to the Week 2 discussion in the NFL at large after a 44-19 drubbing at the hands of the New Orleans Saints. But then again, Good Morning Football isn’t your traditional morning show where talking about Jerry Jones, Dak Prescott, and “America’s Team” is part of the show’s fabric.
Suffice it to say, perhaps GMFB is the only show going on at 8 a.m. ET hellbent on talking about how Klint Kubiak, Derek Carr, and the Saints carved up Dallas for four quarters. On other networks where the Cowboys are the shining light that guides, that might be the case. But NFL Network’s premier morning show made it a point to say that it shouldn’t matter what market you’re in to talk about a 44-19 win.
And in talking up the Saints, Kyle Brandt wasn’t shy at taking a swipe and throwing some shade at the Cowboys talk that would predictably be elsewhere — like Get Up on ESPN. But as we said before, GMFB is so highly essential to the diet of the NFL fan because you aren’t forced to be stricken with oversaturated takes. This is the same Brandt who made it a point to say that his show — and GMFB as a whole — would not be the one to succumb to any Week 1 overreaction.
The same can be said for Week 2.
“32 is where the New Orleans Saints ranked preseason on this show and any other show, in terms of buzz, hype, conversation,” Brandt began. “The New Orleans Saints, did we do a single segment on them in the summer? Did anywhere, anyone at ESPN do a single segment on the New Orleans Saints over the summer? I don’t think so. There was more buzz on the Panthers; there was more buzz on the Patriots — we talked about them a lot. The Saints were just nothing, nothing — and now they’ve completely lit the world on fire in their first two weeks.
“I think it is so cool. We knew they were going to have those old war horses on defense — they always have. Demario (Davis) and Cam (Jordan), and those guys are great, they really are. I just didn’t see this Derek Carr coming through the first two weeks looking this good. It’s been unbelievably fun to show.”
“And I want to make another point about Good Morning Football,” continued Brandt. “We’re not taking this game and pushing it into a Cowboys’ conversation. We have bylaws here, alright? If you win the game 44-19 to go 2-0, we’ll talk about you. I don’t care what market you’re in. I don’t care if you’re a high school team. I’m sure if you flipped a few channels away, they’re making this a Cowboys thing.
“We’re gonna talk about the Saints fans…and we’re gonna do ‘Who Dat’ this morning.”
Kyle Brandt on Good Morning Football has a message to football fans as everyone predictably focuses on the Cowboys today.

That they did.
Good Morning Football keeps it real in a world where every conversation seems to circle back to the Cowboys. Instead of pushing the same old narratives, it focuses on what actually matters — like the Saints rolling to 2-0 with a statement win.
