The Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX trophy presentation led by Terry Bradshaw on Fox got off to a bizarre start with a hot mic blunder.
After winning their second Super Bowl in franchise history Sunday night while simultaneously ending the Kansas City Chiefs’ bid for a three-peat with a 40-22 thumping, the Eagles were on the podium to accept the Brady Trophy – I mean – the Vince Lombardi Trophy. And the start of that trophy presentation on Fox had a curious hot mic moment.
Fox NFL Sunday host Curt Menefee kicked off the presentation by throwing it from the postgame set to Terry Bradshaw, who was on stage. It was presumably Bradshaw who then said, “I gotcha, Curt” on a hot mic. But seconds later, another unsuspecting voice entered the broadcast.

“I said after the trophy lift,” the unknown voice said in a very annoyed tone. “I said after the trophy lift. Oh my god, I said after the trophy lift.”
Many on social media suspected it was Tom Brady on the hot mic ranting about wanting to do something after the trophy lift. But the voice sounds deeper than Brady’s. It would also be an odd time for Brady to get caught on a hot mic considering he wasn’t part of the postgame show or trophy presentation.
It seems more likely that Fox had Bradshaw’s mic turned on after Menefee threw it to the 76-year-old analyst. And whoever was standing next to Bradshaw may have gotten caught next to his mic while giving orders to someone else on stage. Fox clearly had the wrong mic on because the beginning of Roger Goodell presenting the trophy to Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie was cut off on the broadcast.
But for whoever had the issue, and for whatever the issue was, hopefully they took care of it after the trophy lift.
