Despite capitalizing on his name to sell his own line of Dijon mustard, Bijan Robinson’s name isn’t pronounced like you think it is.
Yes, that’s right. Bijan and Dijon do not rhyme. The news is devastating for mustard enthusiasts, but is a preseason godsend for broadcasters who will need to pronounce his name all season long. During NFL Network’s Back Together Weekend, Robinson revealed how to properly pronounce his name.
This is how to pronounce @Bijan5Robinson‘s first name, straight from the man himself 🗣️

“Alright. How you pronounce my name is buh-zhon, for everybody that’s out there. I know a lot of people say bee-jon, but it’s buh-zhon,” Robinson told NFL Network.
Well, there you have it folks. Bijan’s Dijon is fraudulent. Time to go back to Grey Poupon.
In all seriousness though, more NFL players should come out with these types of public service announcements. Yes, broadcasters get pronunciation guides, but it’s sometimes easy for them to slip up if, like Robinson, everyone says someone’s name a certain way.
We’ll see if this new information sticks for the Atlanta Falcons star. Hopefully it doesn’t hurt his condiment business too much.
