Former New Orleans Saints star Drew Brees is widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in recent NFL history. But if there is one area to critique, which NFL Network’s Michael Robinson chose to do recently, it would be his ability to make plays with his legs.

When giving a player comparison for Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix, NFL Network’s Michael Robinson called the former Oregon star an “athletic Drew Brees”. He went on to say that Drew Brees “wasn’t doing a lot of quarterback draws” during his time in the NFL.

It’s not exactly an unfair analysis from Robinson. Even in comparison to many quarterbacks of his time where pocket passing was more of the norm in the NFL, Brees was considered one of the more stationary quarterbacks in the league.

However, Brees did play in the NFL for 20 seasons, which means that even he has a number of runs that were quite impressive. Naturally, Drew Brees responded in the most hilarious way possible, posting a highlight reel of the best runs of his career on Instagram.

“I had to have some fun with this one! I appreciate the comparison,” said Brees in the caption of his Instagram post. Bo Nix will be a stud in the NFL. I still haven’t seen many QBs doing this though…gotta be an athlete! Tape don’t lie!”

There is no debate that Bo Nix may be a bit of a better athlete than Drew Brees. But on paper, it sure seems like the Broncos would be thrilled if Nix is even able to accomplish a fraction of what Brees did in his illustrious career.
