Colin Cowherd loves hot takes more than he loves the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense against the Kansas City Chiefs’ defense.
Cowherd doesn’t like watching the Eagles score off their famous tush push, and he has a way of keeping it out of Super Bowl LIX. Don’t let them into the red zone. Sound crazy for a team that just put up 55 points against the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game? Cowherd thinks it might happen.

Jason McIntyre questioned Cowherd’s disdain for the tush push Monday afternoon on The Herd, noting, “This is for touchdowns, this is for two-point conversions, what’s wrong with it? It feels automatic. When the Eagles run it in the Super Bowl, Chiefs ain’t gonna be able to stop it.”
Insert Cowherd hot take. “They may not get into the red zone,” Cowherd said of the Eagles’ offense against Kansas City.
Maybe this wasn’t an insult. Maybe Cowherd was claiming Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts would score a few big-play touchdowns to simply nullify the red zone. Let’s hear him out.
“I don’t think people are giving Kansas City’s defense the credit,” Cowherd said. “Oh, I think it’s really good. And it’s really good in big games.”
Nope, this wasn’t some sort of understated compliment. Cowherd is claiming the Eagles’ offense might not be good enough to get into the red zone against Kansas City. Get used to these hot takes. We have two whole weeks before Super Bowl LIX gets played in New Orleans.
At this point, the Eagles shouldn’t need bulletin board material, but surely, their fans will relish the opportunity to mock Cowherd if Philly finds its way into the red zone en route to ultimately stopping the Chiefs from three-peating.
