Tennessee Titans OC Brian Daboll wants to make it clear that his team’s efforts in their season-opening loss to the New York Jets were not good enough, and that starts with him.
New York Giants fans have heard that before.
The Titans offense managed a scant 195 yards of total offense in their 23-10 home loss to the Jets on Sunday. On Thursday, first-year offensive coordinator Daboll met with the media and made it clear that “relative to the last game, certainly not what we wanted. Not good enough. That starts with me.”

That’s a perfectly normal thing for a football coach to say after a loss. For Daboll, however, it’s a little too normal, especially for Giants fans, who heard those exact words a lot during Daboll’s disappointing tenure as their head coach, which ended last year following a 20-40-1 run.
As the video of Daboll giving his Pavlovian response spread on social media, Giants fans still suffering from years of frustration under his watch suddenly experienced some intense flashbacks.
This sounds ohhhhh so familiar. https://t.co/psIJlquMLj

We’ll see how things go this season for Titans fans, but it sounds like they’re only just getting started hearing about how things have to be better and how it all starts with Brian Daboll.
