The NFL preseason is an opportunity for teams to try out new ideas and formations on the field in a low-stakes environment.
The same holds true for the broadcast booth, and on Saturday, actress Brenda Song made her debut as a color commentator for the Los Angeles Rams in their preseason game against the New Orleans Saints.
Song, an actress by trade, is known as an avid fan of the Rams and Los Angeles sports in general, attending games with her partner, actor Macaulay Culkin. Previously, she had helped out the Rams with her acting skills, taking on the role of a news anchor for the team’s 2025 schedule announcement.
Making her debut in the booth on Saturday night, Song looked and sounded very comfortable talking about her team.

While her broadcast appearance was just for the third quarter, Song got to call some pretty big action.
With the Saints knocking on the goal line, Rams safety Alex Cook picked off Spencer Rattler and returned it the length of the field for a touchdown.
“We’re going home. Byeeeeeee!” Song cheered as Cook ran back the interception. Turns out when you put a fan in the booth for the first time, they still sound a lot like a fan.
Still, critics won’t be able to say Song didn’t call it even, as she also credited Saints wide receiver Jalen Moreno-Cropper for an impressive catch.

The day ended with a 34–0 win for the Rams, so if this is the end of Song’s broadcast career, she can boast that she retired undefeated.

Los Angeles opens its 2026 campaign in Australia against the San Francisco 49ers on September 10. It might be a long flight for Song as a fan, but if Netflix wants to get creative with its own booth, they know who to call.
