Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien dropped some unsuspecting news on the media Wednesday. That bit of news even included Houston Chronicle’s Texans beat reporter Aaron Wilson as O’Brien announced he was waived from the Texans.
BREAKING:@AaronWilson_NFL has been cut by the Texans…somehow.
Newspapers & digital media companies around the country have 7 days to waiver claim him until he becomes a free agent.

I know there’s layoffs in media but this is a bit next level.
Instead, it was a simple slip of the tongue. O’Brien meant to say that the team waived cornerback Aaron Colvin, was looking at another Aaron in Wilson, and we got a rather hilarious moment within what likely would’ve been a dry press conference.
It’s good to laugh at yourself sometimes and O’Brien, as well as the rest of the people in the room, found the humor in his slip. Although if Aaron Wilson isn’t at the Texans facility in the near future, we’ll find out that Bill O’Brien might be wielding a bit too much power in Houston.
