After the Jacksonville Jaguars’ embarrassing 47-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Monday night, they are now one of three 0-3 NFL teams on the season.

In the eyes of Amazon Prime NFL insider Albert Breer, some big changes could be on the horizon in Jacksonville if things don’t turn around quickly.

Once a promising AFC team, the Jaguars came into the 2024 NFL season having missed the postseason while the Houston Texans and quarterback C.J. Stroud passed them by in the division.

Jaguars owner Shad Khan came into the year with some incredibly high expectations for his team, calling the roster the “best team assembled by the Jacksonville Jaguars ever” and saying that “winning is the expectation.”

That clearly has not been the case thus far and Breer believes this could quickly become a slippery slope for head coach Doug Pederson.

“Their core players are good, not great,” said Breer during a Tuesday appearance on The Dan Patrick Show. “I think that’s sometimes in the NFL where you can get yourself in trouble. Where the highest-paid players on your team or the highest-drafted players on your team are just pretty good and not great. I’m talking about like Christian Kirk, and Tyson Campbell, and Cam Robinson. Like they are good players. But are they core pieces of a champion? And those three guys I mentioned are all very highly paid. It just feels to me like a team that doesn’t have this real strength to hang its hat on. It needs Trevor Lawrence to be a superstar and he just isn’t one right now.

“It feels to me like a franchise that may be in for another reset. I think they have three very big weeks coming up here. I believe their next three weeks they have two division games. I think they play the Bears but then they also play the Colts and the Texans. And then they go to London to play the Patriots. That’s obviously a big game for ownership going over there. If you have a winless team going over there… These billionaires don’t like being embarrassed. It feels like there is a lot on the line for a lot of people in that organization over the next few weeks.”

Patrick then asked Breer if he meant that a head coaching change could happen here shortly. Breer responded by saying he “wouldn’t be surprised” to see Belichick in Jacksonville for the 2025-26 season.

“They are just a sneaky one for Belichick for me,” Breer added. “Tony Khan has a really strong relationship with Bill Belichick, Shad’s son Tony. When they hired Doug Marrone and removed the interim tag in 2017, that was largely on the advice of Bill Belichick to do it. So Bill has had the ear of ownership in that place for a while now.

“I just wonder if that’s not rattling around in the heads of ownership there now. Especially when you’re renovating your stadium. And now you’ve got sponsorships to sell, you’ve got suites to sell. All of that stuff. Do you need some more credibility? There are some things that line up there where I wouldn’t totally rule out that as a viable possibility for Belichick in 2025.”

It seems like a possibility that may make sense for both sides. Belichick would get a quarterback with a lot of potential who might need a new system to get going. As for the Jaguars, they would get a head coach with Super Bowl experience who could get them back on track.

It’s been long rumored that Belichick, despite his many media gigs, wants to return to coaching next season. Stephen A. Smith recently pushed for Jerry Jones to hire him as the next coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

Recently Belichick spoke about how the Jaguars could help out Trevor Lawrence during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, calling the former No. 1 overall pick a “very talented guy”
