Baltimore reporters argue on X over coverage of Justin Tucker allegations

A pair of Baltimore reporters, Justin Fenton of The Baltimore Banner and Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun are at odds over the reporting of the sexual misconduct allegations leveled against Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker.

Fenton took issue with an article by Wacker, which The Sun shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account.

“This is intentionally written to make it seem like The Sun has broken this latest story and that they have talked to a number of massage therapists making claims,” Fenton said. “They have not. The Banner broke this story this morning,& has talked to 17 therapists while The Sun has spoken to 1.”

Wacker took exception to Fenton’s claims.

“Excuse me? Absolutely not written/reported that way,” he said. “Accreditation is also given re The Banner’s reporting throughout. You also have no idea who I talked to or when. Did The Banner have an update up first? Yes. But next time you start spewing BS about me try getting facts right.”

The argument continued.

“The thing where you keep writing in every story that the two outlets have spoken to 17 ppl is HIGHLY misleading, and there is no argument otherwise,” Fenton said. “I’ve got my facts right. Have a great day.”

“I’ve written four stories and contributed to a few more on Tucker,” Wacker replied. “Not once have I written that both outlets spoke to 17 people. The only thing misleading and actually factually incorrect is what you’re saying.”
