Longtime New York Knicks color commentator Walt “Clyde” Frazier left MSG play-by-play announcer Mike Breen in disbelief with a comment that he made to open Friday night’s game vs. the Chicago Bulls at Madison Square Garden.
“Mike, I was talking to my friends, man,” Frazier said as the Bulls-Knicks game tipped off. “And I was talking about eradicated, obliterated, devastated. They thought I was talking about Iran. But I was talking about the Bulls.”

Sheesh.
Breen laughed while surely being caught very off guard by what’s one of the most unexpected comments you’ll ever hear on a sports broadcast. Especially to start one.
“In their last game to the [Indiana Pacers], folks, they gave up 145,” Frazier continued. “Against the [Philadelphia 76ers], they gave 157 points. So, these guys have been on a five-game losing streak, almost giving up 135 points a game.”
“That’s how you start a telecast?!” Breen said, understandably still shocked.
There are a million other ways to make the point Frazier was trying to make, but the “eradicated, obliterated, devastated” and “giving up 135 points a game” trends continued for the Bulls on Friday night. The Knicks, led by a game-high 31 points from OG Anunoby, came away with a 136-96 blowout victory over the Bulls.
