The Greatest Roast of All Time will roast the greatest quarterback of all time as Tom Brady is set to be the subject of a Netflix special next month.
It’s a roast nearly two years in the making, with Netflix announcing Brady would be featured in their Greatest Roasts of All Time series back in May 2022. Last December, Netflix finally set a date of Sunday, May 5, 2024 for the taping of the Brady roast. And Monday morning, Netflix announced the roast will be hosted by Kevin Hart, but more importantly, it will air live. Which means The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady will be unedited, unfiltered, uncensored and available to Netflix subscribers on Sunday, May 5 at 8 p.m ET, 5 p.m. PT. Brady’s roast is part of Netflix is a Joke Fest at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.
When Netflix announced the roast two years ago, they did so with a press release titled, “Netflix to Roast Gisele Bündchen’s Husband, Tom Brady.” Obviously, Brady is no longer Bündchen’s husband, but he still carved enough of a career for himself to be considered famous in his own right.
“The roast of Tom Brady, live on Netflix. No helmets, no mercy, no Brady rules,” Hart says in the trailer, noting the roast will feature a lineup of surprise guests.
Not a surprise, however, is Roastmaster General, Jeff Ross, who appeared in the promo video to warn the retired quarterback and future Fox NFL analyst, “We’re coming for you pretty boy.”
“No f*cking problem,” Brady adds. “I’m unroastable.”
Surely, a seven-time Super Bowl champion and the NFL’s all-time leader in passing yards and touchdowns has nothing to worry about. Although there is Deflategate, his three Super Bowl losses, propensity to unretire, massive Fox contract, divorce, awkward docuseries moments, various hair styles and physical transformations on the short list of things comedians can pull from for material.
Netflix is touting this special, which Brady serves as co-executive producer of, as the first ever roast that will be aired live and unedited.
