The San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams met in Melbourne for the first-ever NFL game in Australia. For the special occasion, Netflix debuted a new graphics package, including a new scorebug.
Here’s a look at the new Netflix NFL scorebug in action for the 49ers-Rams showdown:

Netflix previously aired four NFL games across Christmas doubleheaders in 2024 and 2025. When that Netflix NFL scorebug debuted in 2024, it was met with mixed reviews.
You can compare the new Netflix NFL scorebug to the previous version and judge for yourself:

Generally speaking, NFL fans seem to like the new Netflix scorebug much more. Here’s a sampling of the reactions:
1) Excellent new scorebug from Netflix.
2) Luke Kuechly has been a very enjoyable listen so far.
3) I despise streaming sports/not being able to flip around to other channels so much I can’t even articulate it.

The Netflix scorebug. If kind of looks like NBC’s scorebug, that’s because NBC Sports is producing the game for Netflix.

** It’s clean (and another example that shows how bad & lazy the current Fox NFL scorebug is). 🏈

The Netflix Score Bug is Elite!!

Netflix debuted two different MLB scorebugs in 2026, both of which drew polarizing reactions. But the latest NFL scorebug appears to be satisfying most viewers.
There will be four more Netflix games in the 2026 season: a Thanksgiving Eve game (Green Bay Packers vs. Rams), a Christmas doubleheader (Packers vs. Chicago Bears; Buffalo Bills vs. Denver Broncos), and a Week 18 game to be determined (Saturday, Jan. 9).
