With just over a month until the start of the 2025 college football season, Netflix has released the first trailer for its upcoming SEC-focused docuseries, SEC Football: Any Given Sunday, offering an in-depth look into the 2024 college football season.
The docuseries, set to premiere on August 5, will feature behind-the-scenes coverage of only 10 out of the 16 SEC teams, after Georgia, Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, and Ole Miss opted out of the project. But based on Netflix’s trailer, there is still no shortage of star talent that appears to feature in the project.
Some of the big-name players that appear to be highlighted based on the trailer include Florida quarterback DJ Lagway, LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, and Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Paiva, along with LSU head coach Brian Kelly.

In addition to Netflix releasing the official trailer for the docuseries, the platform also issued a press release about its upcoming docuseries, which shares some insight into what viewers can expect from the project. In particular, the series will reportedly “spotlight high-stakes games, rivalry week showdowns, and the personal stories that shape each season.”
It’s currently unclear whether this project will become a recurring one that follows SEC schools on an annual basis. And if this were to end up being the case, would the additional six teams in the conference that initially opted out of the project change their minds in the future?
However, what we do know is that the production company behind this project, Box To Box Films, has a track record of producing successful sports-themed docuseries, as it is also behind the creation of Sprint, Full Swing, Formula 1: Drive to Survive, and Break Point on Netflix.
