On Tuesday, Showtime will debut A Season with Navy Football, the latest installment of a documentary series that has previously spotlighted Florida State and Notre Dame. A Season With will go behind the scenes with the Midshipman during their 2017 season, which begins Friday night against Florida Atlantic.

On Friday, Showtime released a trailer for the upcoming season. The 1:52 clip emphasizes the unique experience of football at a service academy, which figures to be a big draw for this iteration of A Season With.

“For the past decade, despite the intensely rigid daily structure and routine,” a voiceover says, “despite the unique academic and athletic demands, the result has been one of the most accomplished football programs in the country.”

Showtime seems to be taking a risk here by focusing on Navy instead of a bigger program with hundreds of thousands of fans who will watch loyally to get behind the scenes with their teams. If A Season With succeeds in drawing out the many unusual and fascinating aspects of life as a service-academy athlete, this season could draw a national audience. If it doesn’t, ratings might fall flat. There’s presumably a lot of material to work with, as evidenced by the Washington Post’s fascinating story on the injury risk of Navy players wearing dress shoes all day.

A Season With Navy Football will air Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET.
