ESPN Voices TD MegaCast

ESPN’s college football national championship MegaCast Monday saw 14 variations of coverage in total, and the variety of coverage they provided can be seen by juxtaposing many of the calls of Hunter Renfrow’s last-second touchdown to win the game for Clemson. Here’s how Chris Fowler called it on the main ESPN broadcast:

SportsCenter later ran through many of the MegaCast’s different calls, starting here:

Here’s the ESPNU Voices segment (featuring a very insightful prediction!) and then Sean McDonough’s ESPN Radio call:

Here’s a Spanish call they showcased (it’s not clear whether it’s from Eduardo Varela on ESPN Deportes or Kenneth Garay on ESPN Deportes Radio):

And my favorite of the bunch, Joe Tessitore on ESPN2’s Homers Telecast. “Two yards away from glory, two yards between you and one of the greatest upsets to take the crown.” Called right from the sideline the ball was thrown towards, only feet away:

That’s a pretty impressive collection of calls, and one that shows off the diversity of the MegaCast.
