It’s been almost eight years since legendary NBA broadcaster Craig Sager passed away from acute myeloid leukemia.
He left behind five children, including a young daughter, Riley. Well, Riley is all grown up now, a student at the University of Southern California ā and she’s following in her famous father’s footsteps in sports broadcasting.
Riley Sager made her debut as a color commentator Friday night, serving as an analyst for the Big Ten Plus volleyball match between USC and Michigan.

Craig Sager is one of the most beloved sports broadcasters in history, best known for his brightly colored, eccentric suits. Yet he also earned a reputation for his dedication and tough-but-fair approach as a reporter.
Riley is already showing dedication to building her career. She’s interned with the NBA, NBC Sports (for the Paris Olympics), the NCAA.com and now the Big Ten Network. She also recently joined Annenberg TV News.
In between all that, she’s managed to make the Dean’s List. Dad would be proud.
