With the 2024 Summer Olympics set to get underway on July 26 in Paris, we’re starting to hear more about NBC’s coverage plans for the event.
Last week, we learned that Maria Taylor will serve as a late-night coverage host and Sesame Street’s Elmo, Abby, Tango, and Cookie Monster will also help out with NBC’s coverage.
On Monday, more news came out as the network announced its commentary teams for the men’s and women’s golf tournaments in a release.
Play-by-play for both tournaments will fall to Steve Sands, Grant Boone, and Tom Abbott. Sands has been with Golf Channel since 2001, while Boone is the play-by-play man for Golf Channel’s LPGA coverage. Abbott has been with Golf Channel since 2005.
Brad Faxon and Johnson Wagner will handle analysis for the men’s tournament. Faxon returned to NBC in 2023 after working on Fox’s golf coverage from 2015-19. while Wagner has served as an analyst on Golf Channel since 2022.
Morgan Pressel and Mel Reid will be analysts for the women’s tournament. Pressel was on the LPGA tour until 2021 when she joined Golf Channel, and Reid represented Great Britain in golf in the 2020 Olympics, finishing 55th.
John Wood, Rex Hoggard and Karen Stupples will provide on-course commentary. Stupples served in that role in the 2016 and 2020 Olympics while Wood and Hoggard will be making their Olympic debuts.
The studio crew will consist of George Savaricas, Amy Rogers, Brandel Chamblee, and Paige MacKenzie.
