Days before Tuesday’s United States Presidential Election, the Democratic nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris, was on NBC’s Saturday Night Live. A day later, the network granted the Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump airtime.
Trump’s time came in the post-race coverage of NBC’s NASCAR Cup Series at Martinsville broadcast.
Alex Weprin of The Hollywood Reporter noted the possibility on Sunday evening.
“NBC has told the FCC that VP Harris appeared on Saturday Night Live for one minute and 30 seconds “without charge,” triggering an opportunity for other campaigns to request time,” Weprin shared on X, formerly Twitter.

Brian Stelter, CNN’s Media Analyst, initially suggested that Trump’s equal time might come on Monday’s episode of The Tonight Show but later noted that Trump’s equal time would be granted during post-race coverage.
“NBC stations ARE providing Trump with equal time, per the FCC’s regulations, in the wake of the Harris cameo on “SNL” last night,” Stelter shared on X. “A direct-to-camera appeal from Trump to “go and vote” aired during this evening’s NASCAR post-race show.”
