Al Michaels announced during Sunday night’s Chiefs-Seahawks game that Colts-Titans in Nashville has been chosen as the Week 17 flex to Sunday Night Football.

This isn’t exactly surprising news following Week 16’s (earlier) action.

While Indianapolis and Tennessee may not have big national appeal, this game was likely an easy choice for the NFL and NBC because it’s a win-and-in game. The winner of Colts-Titans will get the AFC’s No. 6 seed.

The NFL also released the full Week 17 schedule, and the 4:25 games are full of playoff/seeding implications. Having the meaningful games at the same time will also force teams to take the games seriously, rather than possibly sitting starters.
