The Preakness Stakes is known as “The People’s Party” as thousands of revelers fill Pimlico Racecourse’s infield for concerts, drinking and debauchery. NBC covers a little of the revelry, but also balances it off with some horse racing as the Preakness is the middle jewel of the Triple Crown.
But sometimes the coverage goes off the deep end. During one segment where NBC’s Carolyn Manno was in the infield on top of someone’s shoulders, the next cut was to host Bob Costas and you can see the results:

There’s always something different at the Preakness. This year is no exception. Perhaps next year, perhaps we’ll see Costas doing backflips.
