The relationship between Tegna and the Dallas Mavericks has expanded, as they have announced eight additional television stations to broadcast games for free.
“We’re thrilled by the positive response from fans and advertising partners as we gear up to significantly expand the reach of Mavs games,” Brad Ramsey, senior vice president, media operations of Tegna said in a press release. “We are grateful to our partner stations from Gray, Nexstar, and Sinclair for helping us create more excitement, for more fans, in even more homes across Texas.”
This comes after the Mavericks and Diamond Sports Group in August agreed to end their existing rights on Bally Sports Southwest following financial troubles after trying to recover from Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
In September, Tegna announced a multi-year deal for the local broadcast rights back in September for the upcoming season beginning Oct. 26 against the Phoenix Suns. At least 70 games will be available to watch in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. Now, with more stations.

“Providing access to games has always been our top priority,” said Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall. “We are thrilled to work with WFAA to bring more fun and excitement to all of our MFFLs across North Texas and beyond.”
