If we really are going to lose the current incarnation of Inside the NBA soon, the crew is going out in style, at least when it comes to cracking jokes at one another’s expense.
The TNT studio show was on hand Sunday night for Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves. During the pre-game banter, analyst Charles Barkley brought up the weather in Dallas, Texas, kicking off a light-hearted discussion about how Charles spends his free time.
“It is hot as hell down here in Dallas, Texas,” said Barkley. “Words I never thought I’d say… I wish I was back in Phoenix.”
“Is it really 90, is it mid-90s today?” asked host Ernie Johnson.
“It seems hotter,” replied Barkley. “I was taking my daily walk and I made it a half a block. I said ‘Abort, abort!’ I walk every day to get peace and quiet by myself. I aborted today.”
“You walk to get what, pizza and quiet?” responded Shaq, who seemed like he’d been waiting to use that one for years (he is a pizza pitchman, after all).
“I don’t get much peace and quiet cause people have a bad habit of thinking when I’m out I wanna talk to them,” said Barkley.

We’ll miss Charles complaining and everyone making fun of one another when WBD invariably loses NBA media rights following next season.
