Few things elicit nostalgia in people of a certain age than professional wrestling theme songs. And that’s especially true when it comes to the nWo Wolfpac.
While the Wolfpac’s run in WCW was brief, the spin-off of the original New World Order faction has a special place in the hearts of those who were professional wrestling fans in the late-1990s. Featuring Kevin Nash, Sting, Lex Luger, “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Konnan, the Wolfpac was comprised of tweeners who were just as capable of feuding with WCW’s good guys like Goldberg and Diamond Dallas Page as they were bad guys like “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall and Bret Hart.
Wolfpac members weren’t babyfaces (good guys) or heels (bad guys) — they were just cool. And that was best exemplified by their theme song, the instantly recognizable hip-hop thumping anthem performed by C-Murder.
Don’t turn your back on the Wolfpac
Don’t turn your back on the Wolfpac
Don’t turn your back on the Wolfpac
Don’t turn your back on the Wolfpac
You might wind up in a body bag
While the Wolfpac theme hasn’t been used on a regular basis in pro wrestling since the nWo “Elite” — a combination of the Wolfpac and nWo “Hollywood” — disbanded in 1999, it made its return to airwaves on Monday night. Only it wasn’t a pro wrestling show playing the song, but rather TNT, which aired the song heading into halftime as the Minnesota Timberwolves were in the middle of blowing out the Denver Nuggets in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Many on social media were quick to make note of the song choice, which was an obvious nod the Timberwolves’ nickname.
No f**king way!!!!!!!!

TNT hasn’t been shy about getting creative with its song choices this postseason and had even played the new Kendrick Lamar diss track Not Like Us earlier in the broadcast. Yet despite the Lamar-Drake feud being more mainstream, it was the playing of the Wolfpac anthem that received more attention, as there’s just something special about hearing a pro wrestling theme song on TNT on a Monday night.
