The NBA League Pass out-of-market over-the-top streaming service has received lots of positive press for innovative purchasing options like single-team and single-game packages, plus partial games and 10-minute game chunks. But all of that only matters if the service works, and lots of people Wednesday complained about League Pass outages and errors for more than an hour. Here are some of those tweets of complaint:
.@nba: Why are the rating down?!

@NBA I’m wasting money every month because of how many issues League pass has. I mean this is happening way too much.

You would think with the popularity of the @NBA and the money they have that NBA League Pass would be the best streaming service of the 4 major sports but it's literally the worst.

Of all nights for @NBA League Pass to be down. When I wanna watch LeBron on the East coast taking on my @OrlandoMagic. This is why the ratings are down, and you're making it worse.

We pay $200+ a season for @NBA League Pass and its servers are crashing. WTF. Get your shit together. This is enough for me to cancel my subscription and just illegally stream

NBA league pass not streaming games is the worst when you pay .. 45 minutes as your hold time for customer service.. And your contact us button disabled. @NBA

@NBA I'm not paying 29 bucks a month to not watch the Lakers. Fix league pass streaming please.

@NBA league pass is cancelled after tonight. I’m not about to keep paying for stuff that doesn’t work

#leaguepass really sucks at everything. Streaming tech is not new, anymore. The fact that everyone else does it flawlessly now and you can't get your act together means one of two things. You either don't care that your customers experience these issues or your tech team sucks.

Some users did report being able to watch games (and halftime show content), and the League Pass US support Twitter sent a lot of replies saying they’re working on the issues:
Thank you for your patience. We are currently investigating and will update you ASAP.

Thank you for the additional information. It seems that certain devices are regaining service sooner than others, and we are looking further into it.

Issues and outages happen, especially for streaming TV services (but also conventional TV!), so League Pass is far from alone here. But whatever was behind these issues, they certainly were inconvenient for a lot of people hoping to watch games Wednesday.
