The Charlotte Hornets haven’t had all that much to cheer about this season coming into Tuesday’s game with a 7-27 record. But after a win on Tuesday over the Phoenix Suns, Hornets star LaMelo Ball was all smiles after hearing the voice of Hornets beat reporter Shane Connuck.
Ball had plenty to be happy about following Tuesday’s game against the Suns, scoring 30 points to go along with 10 rebounds and seven assists in a 115-104 win that snapped a ten-game losing streak for the Hornets.
In his postgame press conference, Ball was asked by Shane Connuck whether the win was even sweeter since it was at home. But Ball appeared to be distracted by Connuck’s voice, which he suggested was perfect for reporting.
“Yeah, no it was great,” said Ball during his media availability. “How you get your voice like that? You got a real good voice. We’ll let you do the reporting for sure. It was fun. My guy!”

LaMelo Ball has certainly never been shy in front of a camera, showing off his charismatic personality on countless occasions. Even if it does occasionally get him in trouble.
Considering how poorly the season has gone for the Hornets thus far, Ball would be well-served to have some allies in the media. It sure seems like he’ll have one in Connuck after this interaction.
