Patrick Beverley’s NBA season ended Thursday night, and if the decision was Colin Cowherd’s, his run with Barstool Sports would end too.
Thursday night was not a good look for Beverley. He engaged in an altercation with Pacers fans behind the Bucks’ bench by firing a basketball at them twice, allegedly because he was bothered by someone yelling “Cancún…Cancún on 3.”
Beverley found controversy again after the game, when he smugly snubbed ESPN producer Malinda Adams, stating she couldn’t ask him questions because she didn’t subscribe to his podcast.
That podcast is powered by Barstool Sports. But after his actions Thursday night, Colin Cowherd believes any media company working with Beverley, should abruptly stop.

“All I know is this, is if I ran a media company and I’ve been using Patrick Beverley, I would no longer use him,” Cowherd said on his Friday afternoon Fox Sports Radio show. “That punishment fits that crime. It’s not the end of the world, but I’m not gonna let him represent me.”
Beverley doesn’t represent a media company run by Cowherd. But interestingly, Cowherd attempted to recruit Beverley to his podcast company, The Volume, in 2022. At the time, Beverley’s media free agency was hot after a few ESPN appearances, ones that included on-air battles with Stephen A. Smith and Max Kellerman. Ultimately, Beverley landed at Barstool Sports instead of The Volume. And perhaps lucky for Beverley, Barstool Sports doesn’t have an incredibly high level of standard for who represents them.
Ironically, Cowherd already has one polarizing NBA player representing his media company in Draymond Green. After continuing to represent The Volume through multiple controversies, including punching his own teammate and garnering an indefinite suspension from the NBA, Green should know throwing a basketball at fans and snubbing reporters are Cowherd’s limit. So he says.
Cowherd’s opinion of Green took a drastic turn once the Golden State Warriors forward landed at The Volume. While Cowherd claims he would part ways with Beverley after Thursday night’s incidents, it’s fair to wonder whether that narrative would sound different had The Pat Bev Podcast landed at The Volume instead of Barstool Sports.
